The overall increase in support for increased EU involvement in environmental protection is 8 percentage points. It is one of the highest amongst all areas researched. This increase is registered in almost all Member States, with the most prominent changes in Portugal (increase of 18 percentage points) and Finland (increase of 16 percentage points). An exception to the general trend is seen only in Italy and Bulgaria, but the decrease in expectations for more EU involvement in environmental protection is insignificant – two percentage points for Italy and one for Bulgaria.
