Just over 88 % of Members of Congress consider themselves to be Christians, of whom almost 55 % are Protestant (mostly Baptist and Methodist). Judaism, Mormonism, Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam are also represented in Congress. While only 0.2 % of Congressional members have no religious affiliation, 23 % of the US population do not identify with a specific faith.
